Hi again, Amazon.

Today, Amazon UK announced the launch of The Kindle Storyteller Prize, a £20,000 cash award given to a winner that has self-published an eBook through Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) platform.

The prize is open to literature that, in addition to being published on Amazon UK's KDP, is submitted between between February and May, 2017, is written in English, and is fiction, non-fiction, or a collection of short stories as long as the work is more than 5,000 previously published words. The winner will receive printed copies of their books, which will also be made available for order on Amazon's print-on-demand service, along with a marketing campaign on Amazon UK, and the potential for international translations.

The panel judges will include both Amazon and literary experts who will shortlist titles based on customer and reader interest. This is the second time within months that Amazon has announced a literary competition in the UK, an effort to increase awareness of the KDP platform to indie authors.

The winner will be announced in July 2017 at a ceremony in London, England.
